常用來表示兩者在趨勢、進展或功能上的平行發展。
The percentage of renewable energy usage parallels the decrease in carbon emissions.
可再生能源使用的百分比與碳排放量的減少相當。

通常指的是兩者在功能或角色上相互一致，而不僅僅是表面或性質上的相似。
The percentage of men committing suicide in the United States in 2024 almost corresponds to that in Norway in 2024, at about 15%.

在相似的程度上 Resemble ≈ Parallel > Correspond。
不過要注意，除了 resemble 能夠同時用在人與事物的描述上，parallel 跟 correspond 通常只用於事物，僅在某些特定情境下用於人的描述上（如：兩者在地位、角色、經歷或發展模式的對應描述）。
superior, inferior 高於；低於
比較兩個數值之間的高低，superior (高於) 跟 inferior (低於) 在雅思寫作長條圖中是最常被使用的單字。

適合用於數量上的比較，當差距小於 50% 或數量差距接近時尤為常見。
